Help Hein to become a Registered Nurse

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my brother's story.

My brother, Hein, is an extremely caring and nurturing individual with a passion for helping people. In 2005 - 2007 he went to the UK and worked as a live-in care worker, assisting and caring for disabled individuals. After returning to South Africa at the end of 2007 he struggled to obtain permanent employment and did whatever jobs he could find.

In April 2009 he was in a horrific car accident: he broke his femur, broke ribs and his forearm and ruptured his spleen (which was removed in hospital) but thankfully he survived. After months of rehabilitation I told him that I would fund a training course of his choice - no surprise, he chose to study nursing. In 2013 he became an Enrolled Nurse, specializing in pediatric care.

He was a very popular, efficient, caring, hardworking and 'in-demand' nurse (he has the references to prove it), however he is not a politician and as a result of his inability to accept incompetence and overlook constant misconduct by some of his superiors and peers, he made 'enemies' and was victimized for a year and a half prior to his unfair dismissal end of 2016 - he lodged a dispute with the union he belonged to regarding his unfair dismissal after which a settlement was reached.

They could not fault him on his etiquette, competence, work ethic, etc. and eventually stated that he did not comply with the conditions of his contract, specifically regarding his working hours. As a result of his spleen being removed he now has a compromised immune system and his body takes much longer to fight infections. He worked with sick children and as such picked up quite a lot of 'bugs' from the children and were booked off from work quite a few times (might I add by the hospital doctors, he took no liberties).

He requested various transfers to other departments (orthopedic, oncology, theater, etc.) but there were no vacancies as most of the vacancies were on hold. He was chosen as one of the candidates to start his two year bridging course for enrolled nurses in 2017, which would have been funded by the hospital group he worked for.

Since March 2017 he has been working in a psychiatric clinic through an agency on a temporary basis. In order for him to move forward in life and in his career he needs to successfully complete a full time 2 year bridging course for enrolled nurses to become a Registered Nurse, a title which will open up a world of opportunities for him.

Sorry for the looooooooong story, but it's better to give the full picture than to leave you wondering. Your contribution would be greatly appreciated and will be life changing for Hein.
