Hello, I can't use my name or get into specifics of the case for legal reasons, I can say, I am a 26 year old woman, I was injured at work and I wouldn't wish what has happened to me on my worst enemy.

I was doing everything I was trained to do, the way I was trained to do it. The doctor they had me see was treating the symptoms and not the injury. They sent me to physiotherapy to treat the localized pain in my shoulder from an injury to my neck.

Fed up after 12 months of the company's foot dragging, I decided to see somebody else. I paid to see a neurosurgeon, who took several scans and x-rays and in 2 visits inside a week, had told me what my injury was, and the best way to fix it - which just happened to be surgery. Surgery that SHOULD have been performed months ago as living with the pain for this long may have caused permanent damage.

To pay for my surgery, I borrowed from anyone that would lend to me. Surgery alone was $60,000. Before this injury, I had 3 part-time jobs and was going to university. Now I have nothing. I had to withdraw from my degree because I couldn't sit up for extended periods of time. I had to quit all 3 of my jobs because I was physically unable to do them for the same reason. Which has, and continues to, cost me an average of $5000 a month.

I went from living quite comfortably to not having enough money to eat properly. I've had to ask my parents for help to pay my rent and keep me fed and clothed. But they don't have much. They've been so good to me and I’m sure they've given up a lot of their own luxuries so I can have the basics.

The reason I have started up this page is, I recently heard about the American girl that amassed an incredible amount of credit card debt buying expensive clothing and shoes, made a website and people paid off the debt for her. I'd never heard of anything like that before. But after thinking about it, if she can do it, I can sure try. Hopefully I can get some of my debt paid off.

If not, so be it. Hopefully it works out in the end.

Thanks for reading.

I've also set up a page on facebook. http://www.facebook.com/broke.injured Just in case anyone wants to help me by raising awareness of my situation.

Thanks again
