Campaign Story
In January, 55 other Mizzou students and I are heading to Harmons, Jamaica to serve the physical and spiritual needs of the locals there. This is my first mission trip, and I was inspired to pursue this opportunity after two years of involvement with the Vertias Campus Ministry at Mizzou. Our group is partnering with Won by One, an organization dedicated to making Harmons a self-sustaining community. Seventy-five percent of locals there are unemployed – and rather than simply build houses, Won by One aims to empower residents with education and job resources that will last long after we leave.
