In January of 2020, I will be traveling to Guatemala for 2 weeks to take part in a medical mission trip with the non-profit organization International Volunteer HQ. Here, I will have the opportunity to work alongside other qualified volunteers and medical professionals to provide health care to some of the most impoverished regions of this area. Two weeks may not seem like much, but we know that the personal care and teaching we will provide can make a lifelong difference in those we have the chance to work with. I am confident in our ability to plant a seed of hope in our patients' lives with our humanitarian outreach in their community. Moving forward in my junior year in Curry College's nursing program, I have found a compassion for community and global health. I believe this trip will be an incredible experience that will serve as a foundation for my future. Not only will I be able to find increasing hands on practice but I will have the chance to learn about a culture different from my own and see another part of the world.
