Groggs Kennel Rescue has been saving dogs from high-kill shelters and from abusive owners for over 20 years. We are a 501c3 non profit, taking dogs who have no chance at finding homes, giving them good care, training, socialization, and finding them great permanent homes.

We specialize in rescuing German Shepherd Dogs but always take in any breed and mixes. We are one of the few rescues who take pregnant dogs, to save their lives and the lives of their puppies. We rescue many dogs per year who would have been euthanized. Many people are thrilled with the dogs they have adopted from us! Here is our current list of adoptable dogs - https://www.petfinder.com/pet-search?shelterid=PA9...

OH State Dog Law is trying to take our Rescue license away. They claim we need a commercial kennel license (ie "puppy mill license") to rehome/sell/place over 60 dogs per year. This is not true according to OH State Law! But they continue to inspect the kennel as a commercial kennel, inspections that we cannot pass due to the commercial kennel requirements.

Finally the OH Dog Law revoked the kennel license. We now need to fight the OH State Dog Law in Court to get the license back. If we don't, we will not be able to rescue any longer, and all of the dogs we have here will have to be placed, or removed from the property (seized by the state).

The initial $5000.00 retainer for the attorney has already been used up. Another $5000.00 is now due. The hearing is Nov 1. The attorneys do not expect success at this "preliminary hearing" because it will be held at the Dog Law Office with a Hearing officer. It will most likely have to be appealed to a higher court, which will mean more attorney fees. The fees may be much higher than this fundraiser, but I have to fight this to keep my license and ability to rescue dogs. Many many dogs depend on Ritner Kennel Rescue to save their lives and find them wonderful new homes.

We are determined to fight to keep our license and protect our dogs and our rights! But this fight is expensive. I appreciate any help in funding the attorney costs. Any donations are tax-deductable as we are a 501c3. If you prefer to send a check, send to Ritner Kennel Rescue, 80 Wildwood Road, Newville PA 17241
