Help girls from the informal settlements realize their potential by supporting their transition to secondary education.

School completion is one of the pressing issues in Kenya. Illiteracy rates are high among children in the informal settlements because of inaccessible to education opportunities and resources. Only 58% of pupils enrolled in the first year complete primary school. This proportion falls as they advance to higher levels.

Sunflower Trust provides 4year literacy and leadership program to 10 – 15 year old girls who are low performers academically in different schools within the informal settlements.

90% of girls selected to go through Sunflower program can not only read and write to their grade levels but also complete the program and are ready to join secondary schools.

25 girls are ready to join secondary school in April 2022. With your donation, Sunflower will enroll each of the girls in a secondary school for them to discover their capacity and realize their potential.
