Help girls and young women Access Friendly reproductive health

Afya Rahisi is a social enterprise focusing on providing health solutions, to increase access to essential reproductive health services to populations that experience unfriendliness at the health facilities. These populations include transactional sex workers, MSM and adolescents/youth. We believe that everyone has a right to healthcare that’s responsive to their unique needs and preferences.

To do this, Afya Rahisi has a platform that allows an individual to request for a heath service that is delivered to them at the fairest of costs and in utmost privacy and convenience. This allows this populations to access services and commodities when and where thy need them. This is possible as there is a significant proportion of Kenyan trained health workers who have no regular jobs and rely on locums(short term engagements). Afya Rahisi has utilizes these providers to deliver services faster and at clients preferred location.

For this social enterprise to keep running, it requires to purchase RH commodities, Reliable internet, social marketing to targeted users and facilitation for the volunteers running it.

Afya Rahisi charges some amount from users,. This has been disrupted by COVID 19 effect on the economy- reduced purchasing power, and school closure which has increased the number of girls & young women needing access to reproductive health service, including contraception, STIs management, HIV prevention and unplanned/crisis pregnancies management. The strain on the resources means that Afya Rahisi will be forced to close shop at end of October 2020.

This fundraiser seeks to raise 4000 USD which will cover costs of keeping the services running in November 2020 to February year 2021, when it is expected the number of girls in need will reduce as schools reopen and the enterprise will be self sustaining and running on funds from the cost sharing by users.
