Many of you may remember Ginger from when she worked at The Inner Space & Hoot Owl Attic off and on for a number of years. Ginger Price has been a self sufficient vivacious member of the community for many years. She and her husband bought a home and piece of land in South Fulton County. Rob, her husband died in 2014. Ginger struggled working a number of different jobs, but holding onto her land. Some time back the house was treated for mold damage and was later condemned. She has lived in the basement of a friends home, paying rent for more than 10 years all the while paying her mortgage payment. Last fall she became ill and lost her ability to adequately take care of herself. She continued to work as a publicist until January when she was stricken with a rash that quickly covered most of her body leaving her in excruciating pain. She could not even walk to the bathroom as her hands and feet began to curl. This was in January and she was taken to Grady Hospital where her condition worsened. No diagnosis was found. The best guess was a strain of shingles. She lost her ability to eat on her own or even to sit up in bed during her stay at but was dismissed and sent home. She was home less than 24 hours when it was obvious that she was not able to even feed herself. she is now in Paulding County Hospital where she is receiving therapy and excellent care. She is now able to sit up in bed and is lifted with a Hoyer lift from her bed into into a wheel chair to get physical therapy. Her progress is slow but there is a fair chance that she may at least partially recover. She has no income since she is not able to work and is facing foreclosure on her land. She is financially destitute. She can no longer pay rent and is expecting to lose her belongs that are in her small basement apartment. Help is needed to save her meager belongings and the land so that she may become self sufficient once she is able to leave the hospital, then a rehab center after that. She will probably not be able to ever work again and she has no insurance. Please help this once healthy and vital woman rebound. For updates, you may contact The Inner Space.

The tentative diagnosis of CIPD was not supported by test. Now her neurologist believes that it is insult to her nervous system by shingles or even possibly Gillian Barrett syndrome. Nonetheless, she was able to take a few steps in a walker aided by her PT team. She is still. . . . .
