The father's name is Gilang Andhika Ramadhan or commonly called Gilang. He works as a factory worker and rents a house in Serang district, Banten province. He has a happy family with a wife and 2 children who are funny and always make him excited about life. His children and wife currently live in the city of Palembang, South Sumatra province. But the health condition of his second daughter made him sad and worried.
Almeera Zahra Alfathunissa is Gilang's second daughter. She is two years old. When she was three months old Almeera had several convulsions even though her body was not hot or had a fever. Until one-day Almeera had convulsions with a duration of about two hours and a break of five minutes. Then Gilang and his wife took Almeera to the health clinic. But because of limited equipment, the clinic could not handle her. Then Almeera was referred to Hermina Hospital. Because Gilang did not have a BPJS (health insurance provided by the government), he used his own expenses for Almeera's care.
Almeera had been examined in the laboratory and also a CT scan but the results were not yet available. Until Gilang ran out of money for Almeera's medical expenses. Finally, after Gilang took care of making BPJS on behalf of Almeera the Hermina Hospital suggested to Gilang that Almeera be referred to Serang District Hospital. Then Almeera was treated 12 days in Serang District Hospital. But Almeera's condition hadn't changed. Her platelets continue to fall below normal and she must be transfused with white blood.
After Almeera was treated for several days at Serang District Hospital, Gilang and his wife decided to treat Almeera in the village in Palembang because the air was still cool. Almeera rarely had convulsions, but she still went for outpatient treatment at Palembang RSMH twice a week or depending on her need when she had to be transfused with white blood. On the advice of the doctor, Almeera had to drink Bebelac formula milk and could not drink other brands of milk. When she drank another brand of milk, her platelets would go down again.
After Almeera went for outpatient treatment, the doctor diagnosed her disease. Almeera was initially diagnosed with ITP and epilepsy. After outpatient for 8 months, there was a blast cell/blood cancer suspected as leukemia and platelet deficiency to below normal. That was what causes her to convulsions and sometimes the blood clotted. If a part of her body hit something, it would immediately turn blue. So it must be treated until healed completely. Therefore, outpatient treatment should not be missed even once.
Gilang decided to return to Serang because he had to work and also to fulfill his family's living expenses while his children and wife remained in Palembang.
To be honest, Gilang was very confused about how to find funds for Almeera's medical expenses because he could not provide enough for his family living expenses. He works as a laborer in the factory and his wife is just an ordinary housewife. They are very overwhelmed to bear the costs needed for Almeera's treatment.
Gilang always pray and hope that the blast/cancer cells do not increase and Almeera can be healthy again as before.
