Help get a new computer stolen by a meth head

I am trying to raise money to help my brother get a new laptop that was stolen by a meth addict out on parole who broke into their home. The cops caught him when he returned however, he did not have it on him so they have no proof it was stolen even though the theif was found hiding in their basement. My heart is broken for him. He saved up for damn near a year to get a good laptop to help him with schooling and gaming and its all gone. He had two years worth of DND sessions all gone from it and he was planning on finishing his major in computer sciences. If anyone can help him out I would be beyond grateful. While the price would not get back all the software it should get him a decent computer close to what he had and some of the software. Any little bit helps.
