Help Gerry Raise Funds For His Medical Expenses

A lot of hope that maybe you will be able to help us. Our family’s financial status is not doing very well for a long time due to our father’s unemployment because of COVID-19, our financial instability had hit its peak, and there was a lot of burden on my father’s shoulders. Because of the negative impacts of COVID-19, our bills piled up and we had a lot of debts to be paid off. Our father was always stressed out due to these reasons. Recently, because of the magnitude of stress, he had a brain ruptured aneurysm.

On August 27, 2022, our dad suffered a sudden severe headache while he was sleeping, then was rushed into the emergency room of Paranaque Doctor’s Hospital. He was given myonal pain medication.

The following morning, we found him inside our bathroom lying on the floor barely conscious. He was rushed into the emergency room and during the initial assessment, the doctor suspected that it was a hemorrhagic stroke, and his sensorium is also decreasing rapidly, his GCS was 7-8 (coma scale). CT scan of the head was done immediately and found out that he has a ruptured cerebral aneurysm (subarachnoid). He was then immediately intubated and hooked to a mechanical ventilator. He also had an episode of seizure. A CT angiogram was also performed. After the examination, he was then transferred to the ICU of the hospital.

According to the neurologist, the results of the CT angiogram found that he has another ruptured vessel in his forehead resulting in increased ICP (Intracranial Pressure) and hydrocephalus. The blood from the ruptured vessel spread out and reached the base of the brain, trapping the cerebro spinal fluid that causes pressure on the brain, leading to hydrocephalus and seizure episodes. On a critical scale, he was 4 over 5, and his coma scale dropped to 6. Hence, the neurologist referred us to a neurosurgeon for an emergency operation. Brain surgery was done. Since then, Dad is still housed in the ICU of the hospital.

Our bills have piled up, we already maxed out his health insurance and our family is not able to utilize it for the treatment. Any amount you will donate would be greatly appreciated.
