Community Concerns Uganda (CCUg)seeks donations to build 6 community pit latrines with "tippy taps" in order to reduce on poor hygiene related diseases in Nakalanga, Village (approximately 40 km from Mayuge Town, Eastern Uganda). The money raised from the donations will be used to buy materials, digging "latrine holes" of 6 pit latrine. After the construction of the 6 pit latrines with "tippy taps", there will be community sensitization about the use, maintenance of the latrines and importance of good sanitation and hygiene among community members. It is hoped that these 6 pit latrines will reduce the hygiene related diseases like cholera, typhoid, diarrhoea among community members by over 60%. It is also hoped that the community pit latrines will henceforth increase productivity among community members and reduce on poverty levels and improve on the general well-being of over 60 households. For individuals who will donate 350 dollars and above, arrangements will be made to send them crafts inform of necklaces, bracelets, purses, ear rings made by women group from Nakalanga village, where the pit latrines will be constructed. This will be made after being consulted and hence making choice of the particular crafts that they are interested in.

Rewards

This is a very small reward, but it will be coming from women group in Nakalaga village, where the pit latrines will be constructed. The reward is in form of craft products like purses, ear ring, necklaces, bracelets, belts among others.
