Help Fund the Next Mr. Trumpf Book!

Hey there. Thanks for stopping by. I take it you've seen my little book.

If you like what you've seen so far, I want to make you an offer: give me some money and I'll give you a high-resolution copy of Mr. Trumpf Goes To Washington. Here's my pitch...

Although "Mr. Trumpf Goes To Washington," was a personal passion project, it took a lot of work and a long time to make. And that's cool. I knew it would be a major investment of time and resources when I started and I made that choice freely and it was amazing. I wouldn't have done it differently. The thing is, now that I've finished the first book, I want to make more.

Really, I want to make several more books, some involving Mr. Trumpf and some involving completely different subjects. I currently have 4 follow-up projects in various stages of development and solid ideas for another half-dozen more. The next book is already written, I just need to draw the pictures. It will be roughly 15 pages long, it will feature our selfsame friend Mr. Trumpf, it currently holds the working title "Playground Zero," and it will be awesome.

But in order to bring "Working Title Playground Zero" and it's companions into existence, I need to be able to support myself. That's where you come in, and specifically with your money. I need to bring in some cash to pay the bills while I make silly drawings. I'm just hoping you can help.

Now, the reason why I've turned to this crowdfunding platform and am asking for donations is because I clearly have no idea what I'm doing. I not only need time to keep drawing my pictures, I need time to figure out how to monetize my work while still being able to provide it free to the public. So essentially I'm asking you to buy me some time to try to figure out how to get more awesome picture books into your hands.

Although crowdfunding through GoGetFunding.com is an inelegant solution to a whole heap of problems, it seems to offer the simplest short-term approach to the pesky dynamics of soliciting funding while distributing my book. Here's how it will work:

You send me a donation of $2 or more and I will send you a link to a high-resolution .pdf of "Mr Trumpf Goes To Washington." All you need to do is provide an email address when you make a donation and an electronic letter will appear in your electronic mailbox telling you where you can download my electronic book. What you do with it after that is your business. Share it with your friends, read it to your cat, get weird with it, whatever. I don't care.

I don't even care if you don't pay for it. And I don't care if you do pay for it and then post the link to a neckbeard message board. I designed this thing to be freely shared and I want it to get around. All I ask is you try to support it if you can. I'm invoking the honor system here, trust issues be damned!

A $2 donation isn't much, but a couple of $2 donations go a long way on a McDonald's value menu. I'd ask for less, but it wouldn't make sense with the fixed-fee systems crowdfunding platforms often use. If you want to give me > $2, I'll end up seeing a + higher + percentage % of the donation, but my love and gratitude will remain a fixed constant regardless of how much you contribute.

I'm setting a project goal of $2000 because that's how much it will cost me to knock out my next book. I'm walking one foot in front of the other here and I'm not going to worry about crossing bridges until I get to them.

Question (1) - Why do I want a high-resolution copy of this book?
Answer (1) - Because I've hidden a bunch of easter eggs in the fine pixels of my drawings.

Question (2) - Why are you distributing it as a .pdf?
Answer (2) - Because I lied about not having trust issues. It's a universal format that still gives me some illusion of control over what happens to my work once it goes out into the cold, vicious world.

Question (3) - What are you really going to do with the money?
Answer (3) - I'm going to buy candy. Lot of candy. Probably gummy worms. Trolli sour brite gummy worms.
