Campaign Story
My name is chandrawattie ikhiede I am participating in a volunteer program in South Africa through Global Volunteer Network. GVN is a non-governmental organization which places people in range of opportunities such as teaching or environmental work in a number of countries.Iwill be working with a local organization in South Africa youth of Venda and soweto for 5 months starting june 2013. The gold of volunteering in venda is to offer underprivileged children a future.We hope to provide children with basic necessities of life-love,food,clothing and shelter-and also provide them with an education,so they can advance towards the same opportunities as their peer around the world.
During my placement I will be caring for orphans,street children and abused children at an orphanage.I will take on a the role of sibling to children. A relationship that is often taken for granted.but these children are without.in order to volunteer I will be using some of my personal savings and i been working hard to raise the funds needed to take up this opportunity to help other.if you are able to help support me financially is some way it would be greatly appreciated.
My program fee to volunteer in the South Africa Venda Program for 5 months is $4,647.00 US dollers.In addition to this, I need to pay for my airfares,entry visa,vaccinations, and insurance. As you can see, volunteering dose come at a cost. I would appreciate any donations you can give to enable me to take on the challenge of helping others in less fortunate circumstances then ourselves.
