Help Fund My Father’s Urgent Surgery

I am Harold Benlot, 28 years old, residing at Dasmarinas, Cavite, Philippines. I am writing this letter seeking for your financial aid for my father, Hector Benlot, who had a cardiac arrest last July 8, 2020.

My father was with my sister when he felt sudden pain in his chest and he had shortness of breath. They rushed to the emergency room at De La Salle University Medical Center and while getting treated, my dad lost his heartbeat. Praise God, they were able to revive my dad. It was really God that helped us there and that slim chance could take my father's life. I had to take an emergency half day leave from work to aid my father.

We were informed that my father needs to undergo Angiogram to check the blockage in his heart and later on he needs to go Angioplasty or Bypass Surgery. It was found that 3 vessels were blocked and that caused his heart attack. The doctor said he would have to take the Bypass Surgery already since the Angioplasty will no longer help in my dad's condition.

Also my dad was classified as COVID-19 suspect, so he did a swab test and now isolated at the ICU. We could not go near or anywhere in the hospital because we are in close contact with the patient. We are now praying that the result is negative.

We were able to shoulder the expenses of the tests thanks to his HMO. However, we do not have the capacity to proceed with the Bypass Surgery. The estimated charge for that is 1.5 Million pesos. Also, the surgery is not available in our current hospital so we need to transfer to Philippine Heart Center.

We are only regular employees and we just earn only enough for our living expenses. Adding the threat of COVID-19 makes us worry even more. I humbly ask for you help to extend the life of my father. He was a good and jolly father to us and I still have not yet give full appreciation to him for all the things he did to me. I will take all chances just to help my father.
