Help Fund my Dad’s Cancer Operation and Treatment

A little over a month ago, we celebrated my Dad's 60th birthday. He was born on November 1961. He is a great husband to my Mom and an even greater father to us. He has four daughters, a son and 5 grandchildren. He previously worked in an electric provider company then he retired and continued his work in public service for 6 years. On his last year in public service, he was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease, this was about 8-9 years ago. In 2017, he started his 2x-a-week dialysis sessions.

In August of 2021, he got COVID and was in the hospital for 15 days. He survived that and came home to us. But that admission drained his health insurance. A month later, he was again rushed to the hospital and was again admitted. From September to October 2021, he was rushed to the ER and got admitted thrice. That's when they saw his lungs was filled with blood. In November, he got into a Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS) to find where the bleeding was coming from and remove the clots from his lungs. He recovered from that surgery, but another bad news came when we learned that he has Lung Cancer.

He is in constant pain and our only option to minimize the pain is for him to go through another surgery this December to remove his left kidney which is where the mass is and then he will go through immunotherapy right after. My siblings and I have pooled our money together to cover for our Dad's hospital bills since September and his surgery this December.

The cost of the immunotherapy is a big challenge for us as it is very expensive. This is where we need help to raise enough funds to at least cover the first month. My Dad has a strong will to live and wants to spend as much time as he can with his children and grandkids.

The immunotherapy costs around 6-7k USD (300K - 350K Php) for 28 days. Any additional funds we can raise will be a great help and would mean a lot to us because then we can spend one more day with our Dad.

Growing up, we didn't have much, but my Dad always made sure that we were comfortable. He's always present for his kids and have been supportive on all our choices in life. He gets excited when his grandkids come over and stops any work, he's doing so he can talk and play with them. He has always put our needs and welfare above his. Now that he's in this state, we want to do whatever we can to help him get through this pain-free.
