Developing countries are experiencing the Covid-19 crisis differently and often with a severe lack of resources to weather both the health and economic implications. And the worst is yet to come.
In my home country, Ethiopia, circumstances make it difficult - if not impossible - for the less fortunate to adopt some of the most basic recommended measures. In fact, measures like social distancing can be seen as a luxury in a country where many families share single-room homes.
Given the urgency and deprivation of resources, I just couldn’t sit back and do nothing about it.
I’ve hereby planned to support 25 individuals from a high-risk group (mostly elderly) with one warm lunch a day for three months (May through July)
The food will be cooked at my local coffee shop, Choche Café, and will be distributed by delivery to the 25 individuals.
With your solidarity we will be able to prepare and deliver one warm meal a day to those less fortunate, at high-risk, in challenging environments as they work hard to make ends meet. Your contribution - big or small - along with your consideration and support would be greatly appreciated in helping us save lives!
Lastly, we'll be documenting our initiative with wonderful pictures so you can see the smiles you've put on people's faces!
Thanking you deeply in advance for your consideration,
