Help Fund Low Income Student’s Class Trip

 Hi. My name is Carolina and I am 14 years old. I know this might be a long shot but I am on this website (with my mom's permission) with the hopes that there might be some nice people out there who can help me raise the tuition that I need for a school trip taking place next summer.  A peer group from school will be taking a trip to Scandinavia and Europe for 4 weeks next summer. They (and me, hopefully) will be visiting major cities and historical landmarks and, most importantly, getting together with other school/community peer groups so that we can really have a chance to meet kids our age and learn about each culture on a personal level. It's a way for kids to connect with kids in other cultures, discuss simalarities and differences and share experiences.  Most parents are paying for their kid's trip but my mom can't afford to spend money on a huge trip. She is a single mom who works very hard to give me what I need. She would love for me to go but has no way to pay for it.   I am trying to plan ahead because it's a lot of money and we need to pay for it in full by January of this year.  I am not a lazy teenager. I will be working as much as possible this summer trying to save as much as I can on my own. I babysit, do a storytime for young kids in my neighborhood,  feed and walk people's pets and have a lemonade stand/bake sale every week or so in front of my house.  I will need the donations to pay for a passport, air transportation, train passes, lodging, food, fees for siteseeing, educational lecture guides in each  country, small USA gifts for peers in other countries, phone calling card, and miscilanious extras.  I know travel doesn't seem too important but I work hard in school (Saluditorian of my 8th grade class and High Honor roll every semester), play on team sports each semester, play saxophone in my schol band and strive to be a good, productive member of my community. I believe travel and getting to know and understand other cultures is important.  As Mark Twain said..."Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness..."  To all those who can help me reach my goal, thank you in advance.
