Greek people have been hit very hard by the recession. They just don't have enough money anymore to fully support and sustain independent journalism. So, we need your help to keep us going.

As part of a popular blog (tsak-giorgis.blogspot.com), I have been blogging about the upcoming crisis since 2006, and over these years, our audience has grown, as we have been warning for some time about the global crisis, and how bad things were in Greece. Here is our blog on Alexa (http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/tsak-giorgis.blogspot.com).

For the last 5 years, we had enough funds to keep the blog going, and as our audience was growing, we could provide good journalism and economic/political analysis to our readers. If you want, you can read a few of our articles as a small sample of my work (written in English) on my new english-speaking blog here, here and here. This should help you decide if my work deserves to be funded or not.

The problem for us is that Greek people simply do not have the funds to keep us going anymore, and the quality of journalism (which was already bad) is rapidly declining. We simply cannot continue working like before, providing news, analysis and commentary from Greece and the world. And although our readers want us to continue, they simply haven't got the money to sustain us. In fact, this is how I came across the GoGetFunding website: A lot of readers have been trying to come up with ways to raise money, and one of them suggested this website to me, so here I am.

Of course, most of you have no direct interest in this, as you are not from Greece. So why would you want to fund a Greek website, that posts articles in a language that you can't even understand?

That is a good question actually, but we are hoping that the people will help each other: The working class people are being hit hard all over the world, and we shall have to stand united if we are to successfully resist and fight against the "modern-day oligarchs". If Greece falls, others will follow - but if Greek people rise, other will probably rise too.

If you believe that "our cause is just",  and you want to resist the monopoly of corporate news, please help sustain our blog. As a reward, I can send a copy of a book that I written (in Greek) about the global crisis to those who donate over 70$ to us. I have inserted a picture of its cover, and you can also read it online by clicking here. [Of course, it will all be Greek to you (literally) Smile].

I am sorry for not being able to send a copy of the book for those of you who donate less money than 70$, but I have to cover the (considerable) expenses for mailing the book to a different country than Greece. However, I will thank all of you who choose to doante money to our cause in an article. Any donation will sincerely be appreciated.

Thanks,

Giannis Tsafogiannis
