Hi! I am Ellie Tan from Cavite, Philippines and I have a rescue cat named Circe who we found out is pregnant right now. The cost for spaying here has been too high for us so we’d been holding off on Circe’s sterilization surgery until we had the means to fund it. However, a few weeks ago, my cat escaped from our home and only came back to us the next day. When we took her to the vet this week after noticing some swelling in her belly, we found out that she’s pregnant.
Unfortunately, we cannot let Circe give birth because we do not have the means to take care of several more cats. We also don’t know of a place that will take the kittens in during this time, especially because of the 2 month lockdown that we’re under. Our only choice is to have her spayed which is frankly out of our budget right now because of the impact of this lockdown on my family’s finances. There are also not a lot of facilities that provide free or low-cost sterilization services and the nearest one that we know of is 3 hours away which is not feasible for us because of the suspension of public transportation and the strict travel restrictions.
We do not want to bring life to more cats because there is already a large number of pets that are not given good homes and proper care here and we do not want to add to that.
We are aware that there are more pressing issues that need financing during this pandemic but we are really hoping that you can spare some money to help us out. By donating, you will be funding the tests, surgery, and medication for Circe’s sterilization.
You may donate any amount that you can or even just share this on social media. Thank you so much and I am hoping that you are safe and well during this time!
