“Caloocan City Science High School, ‘di ka namin lilimutin”
These are the opening lines to the CCSHS School Hymn that we all sang every Monday morning as we gather at our quaint little quadrangle to raise the flag, listen to a few announcements, and on some occasions, do some light stretching and exercises. The memories we made with our batchmates, teachers, and Calsci itself are still (hopefully) etched in our minds and hearts, and retrieving these memories instantly catapults us in nostalgia punctured by deep breaths, “Wow, it’s been these many years, huh?”
Today, we have an opportunity to make true of this pledge to never forget Calsci—what is has done for us, how it has molded us, and where it took us. Old age has caught up with our beloved institution and some facilities are now in a state of disrepair. Currently, the buildings need rewiring to accommodate the electrical load of making all classrooms fully-airconditioned. This matter is now being addressed by the Parents-Teachers’ Association of Calsci and they are now beyond 75% of the target amount.
On our end, the Calsci Alumni Association has undertaken initial assessment to have the Audio-Visual Room renovated. The amount we need to raise is at PHP 240,000. As of writing, the initial contributions only amount to 23,000 or 9.58% of the target for the alumni.
“Kanlungan ng karunungan, pandayan ng karanasan;
Caloocan City Science High School, itatanyag kita!”
We are reaching out to you to help maintain Calsci a topnotch educational institution—a place we all call home.
