Help fund a brain tumor operation

I am raising funds on behalf of my friend's mom in Venezuela who recently got diagnosed with an operable brain tumor. A few days ago, she complained of a bad headache and went to see the doctor. An xray was taken and clearly showed the large tumor in her skull.

As we all know, Venezuela has recently faced some severe economic problems. My friend has been doing charity work in the form of organizing food for poor street kids and the doctor is aware of this. So the doctor has offered to perform the surgery for free. However, he still needs to receive payment to cover the costs of treatment, which include stay in an intensive care ward, medication, operating room costs etc.

Due to the economic turmoil plaguing Venezuela, my friend's small website design business has not done well in the recent years, so expects to fall well short of the estimated over US$10,000 needed to fund the medical bills. He has already sold several possessions like his car and handphone to try to obtain funds, but there is still a large shortfall.

This campaign is to help raise funds to help my friend pay for those medical bills and fund the operation that will save his mother's life. Any balance funds that are left over after paying for the medical bills will be used to continue funding the charity work to feed the poor street kids in Venezuela.
