Hi! We are Daniella Santiago, Rizza de Jesus, Harvey Apal and Cheska de Jesus. We would like to ask for your help to fund our medical school studies. We are all first year medical students studying at the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health located in Metro Manila, Philippines. It's one of the most prestigious medical schools in the country. However, with the increasing price of post-graduate education, especially that of medical schools', students like the four of us are finding it impossible to make ends meet. What is making the matters worse is that student loans or medical school assistance is not available in the country. Our families are trying their very best to support us in achieving our life-long dream of providing health care and services to those who especially need it most in our country.
Our medical school program is not the usual four years. It is a five-year MD-MBA program that would equip us with the proper clinical knowledge and emphatic leadership skills needed in our world now where doctors are usually thrust into leadership positions--whether it's in the government or not--with a lot of lives on their hands. Also, we all have a public health undergrad background; with that, we all wish to use our skills in communicating people's experiences of health and well-being to the larger audience.
The only thing that's left unsure is whether we can continue paying our school its extensive fees. Our highest goal of being at the intersection of our deepest interest and the world's greatest hunger is out of the question.
