Help Freelife care for stray dogs in Satu Mare, Romania

Freelife Satu Mare is a NGO caring for stray and abandoned dogs in my home town of Satu Mare, Romania (population 100,000). As some of you may know, there are thousands upon thousands of strays in Romania and if you can help care for a few of them, then you're my hero.

Freelife SM is the only shelter in Satu Mare existing entirely from donations and the good will of locals. As opposed to the city-run dog shelter, Freelife does not euthanize any of the stray, regardless of how long they need to care for them.

Apart from taking in abandoned dogs (and cats), they are working hard to find local loving homes for their dogs and are also running a strong social media campaign (including online shaming) aimed at raising awareness among people in Satu Mare, so that they take action and help end the suffering and hunger of the dogs and cats roaming the city's streets.

Furthermore, Freelife SM, through its online presence is helping anyone who has lost their pet to spread the information quickly and reunite the pets with their owners as fast as possible.

The shelter is fairly new, the people running the shelter have started from scratch in 2014, with a piece of land that they've fenced up. These people have big hearts and are extremely committed to saving stray dogs and are investing a lot of heart and effort into this. But they're missing pretty much everything else, from a chip reader to dog houses, blankets, meds and food, food, food.

The goal of this campaign is to lend them a hand. We're not asking for much, but the little you can donate will go a long way in Romania, where the prices of food and generally everything are lower than in the west.

I'm flying back to Romania in June so I will personally go and buy all the stuff they need and will show you all photos and receipts for everything that's been bought.
