In early 2015, the idea for a business was seriously considered by Darren and Reuben. Each having served time in law enforcement and for Reuben the military as well, they both felt it was time to move on to do something more, something with a positive purpose that they could be passionate about. Both have lost friends and colleagues in service, both have made it through life altering scenarios, and both wanted to be able to move forward with this endeavor while not forgetting their past and the thin line they walked.

They put their heads together and Mugshots Coffee and Tea was born. The driving force for them was to fill a void in the growing communities in and around Charlotte, where they currently live, as well as achieve a common dream that both of them have. They believe that the area needs and deserves a great local coffee shop, and that is exactly what they have designed and are going to bring into existence.

They immediately began refining and tuning their skills and knowledge of the industry and science therein. Along with the help and mentorship of a friend who is both an industry expert and competition level barista, they continue to grow and refine their skills and standards. It is with this partnership that they plan on introducing the Charlotte area to Mugshots Coffee and Tea Company.

They also want to give back in many ways. One is to honor their friends and colleagues who have given so much and received so little as thanks they want to honor them by having their names etched/burned into the bar that is being built/donated by a friend and talented carpenter. They would also like any donor that knows a fallen, active, disabled, retired, or otherwise service member (law enforcement, fire and ems included) to please list last rank and name so that they may be recognized as well in the same manner. They have the intention of hosting and taking part in fundraising events, especially for public service and military related causes. Additionally, they intend on taking part in holiday drives and events to benefit the greater Charlotte area and beyond, as the business grows.

Thank you for your time in considering this...
