Good day everyone!

I’m Charmea Quelino and my family is humbly asking for your help in my sister’s battle for her life. My sister is Vivhap Quelino, 13 years old. When she was a baby, she was diagnosed with epilepsy and cerebral palsy. Because of that, she doesn’t have the ability to do any basic motor skills like talking, walking, eating on her own and doesn’t have the ability to communicate with us.

Ever Since, my sister has been going in and out the hospital because of her condition. Last April, we have to rush her to the hospital again because she had an average of 20 seizures per day. She was sent to the ICU for a while because her condition was getting worse. We were told that maybe it is already her time to rest and to prepare ourselves for it. However, my sister’s a fighter, she never gave up and after two weeks of fighting, her seizures subsided and was discharged in the hospital. We thought everything was already okay but one week later, last May 14, we had to rush her to the hospital again because she had a high fever and is having a hard time breathing even with her oxygen tank. She was directly sent to the ICU and was diagnosed with Measles, Pneumonia, Septic shock and Lung Atelectasis (Restrictive Lungs). She can't breath on her own anymore that's why she was intubated to.assist her breathing and last May 31, she underwent a tracheostomy operation to help her in her breathing.

Ever since she was a baby, it’s really hard for us to look at her when she’s in pain. We’re trying our best to help her but there are times when we don’t know what to do because she can’t tell where it’s hurting and all we can hear from her is her cries. That’s why during her stay in the hospital, and while looking at her current condition, we thought that she suffered enough. 13 years of suffering is enough and we are already preparing ourselves to accept it if it is already the time for her to rest.

One early morning, her vital signs dropped and the doctors thought there's no more hope. A few minutes later, they were surprised because her vital signs suddenly went back. That was when we saw that our little sister doesn’t want to leave us yet. Even with the suffering that she’s enduring, she is still fighting for her life. Looking at how strong her will is, my family is also trying our best to stay strong for her.

My sister is now out in the ICU after staying there for 19 days. However, she's still in the hospital and is going through medication. We are thankful that my sister is now getting better but what we are worrying now are the hospital bills.

Although I am a full scholar as a student-athlete, my 2 siblings are still students and my father is the only one working in our family as an OFW. Because of that, my father’s income is not enough to pay all of these bills.

The current hospital bills of my sister are ₱335, 173. We also have to pay some doctors fee and her doctors are 5 specialists. Also, my sister is in need of medication. Last time when she’s still in the ICU, we’re spending an average of ₱2,000- ₱4,000 ($38-$76) per day for her medication.

We didn’t asked for help before in my sister's confinement because we’re trying our best to pay it although it’s hard. We’re also blessed that her doctor, doctor Fernandez is not asking us to pay for the doctors fee. However we're now running out of funds. It is now her third's confinement this year and in her second confinement last April, we have to borrow money in order to pay the hospital bills. However, her hospital bills this time is bigger and we really can’t handle it.

My family is humbly asking for your prayers and financial help so we can provide the needs of my sister’s medication and pay her hospital bills. Any amount would greatly help us and are highly appreciated. We may not pay you back but I know that someone up there will bring back all the blessings. God Bless and thank you for taking the time to read this and for helping.

These are just some of my sister's photo during her last confinement last April and when she's not yet in the ICU. Sadly, we don't have any photo of her current condition because she's in the ICU and taking a picture or recording a video there are not allowed.
