Help For Us

Help For Sherri, Bob, & Jade (our Czechoslovakian German Shepherd)

We would like to start a small “vinyl sign/rhinestone “T” shirt” making business. This would require about $5000 for setting up an area to work, and buying machines and supplies.  Years back we owned a similar business and made a decent living at it so we’re very experienced at it.

 We are on Social Security and having trouble making it. This would allow us to make a little extra money for necessities,  and maybe something special once in a while (the really good treats for Jade). 

Now for the sob story—I hate this but it’s true:

Over the years I have had some good jobs. Of the last two, I was let go on the first because the elderly owner thought he could run it by phone and save my salary (it didn’t work). I was let go on the second because I had a stroke and couldn’t work full time.

In the meantime with both of us working we spent 20 years investing and putting all our money and labor into a farm to retire on. We had numerous animals and did “rescue” for many animals — donkeys, dogs (a lot of Newfoundland's), etc. We cleared the land and built the house from scratch (with thankful help from family and friends). We enjoyed it immensely.  One day it all ended and we lost almost everything. There were a lot of factors involved, including misplaced trust, etc. but when it ended we were destitute.

 We sold what we could and bought a camper and moved to an RV park. Last winter we tried the Florida bit but found it wasn’t for us and was expensive. On the trip South I had a bleeding ulcer (it was close but luckily we were near a very modern hospital).  But of course, it took any extra money we had.

This year we decided to stay in the park in NH (with lots of help from family and friends) which involves a lot of money to stay warm, it’s been a rough winter. It’s nice but takes a lot of effort to be “upbeat”. Then, just a few weeks ago Sherri had a stroke in her left eye which left her blind in that eye (of course this is costing us money we don’t have). She does real well but I would like to earn enough extra money to take her out to dinner once in a while and to buy our wonderful dog some special treats.

 Hopefully with the help of family, friends, and people who will be friends we will be able to set up this little business to help us through the years we have left. Bless you all.
