Campaign Story
Our second child, Dominic Algo Diaz, was born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2019. He has been diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension, patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), atrial septal defect (ASD), and pneumonia.
Algo initially came out healthy, until the doctors noticed that there was something wrong with the way he cries. That was the last time we saw him awake - since he is, until today, sedated. Later that day, they found out that he has pneumonia.
The next day, February 15th -- there were no improvements with his breathing. There were grunting and retractions. The doctors decided to conduct a 2D echo. It was then that we found out he has pulmonary arterial hypertension, PDA and ASD. We were informed that the treatment for this complicated case can take months. He has been put under vent help and a lot of meds.
This is a very difficult time for our family. Leaving our son in the NICU, seeing him with all the machines and tubes is totally heartbreaking. But our son is a fighter.
We are knocking on your generous hearts for help and prayers for our little son, Algo. The daily running medical bill in the NICU is overwhelming, and our family would greatly appreciate any amount of blessing you can give. We are also praying and hoping to get financial support from DSWD in the Philippines, to partially subsidise the medical expenses.
We are praying for his fast recovery -- that no other complications may arise, and that our family will continue to be strong to get through this. God is good! We have faith that He will help Algo surpass this battle.
