This fundraising campaign is for the bravest woman we know, our mom. As a single parent, mama did everything for us, now let us do the same for her.

Our family is asking for your prayers and support for our mom, Herminia "Nini" Arellano Molina, who was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer.

Prior to her diagnosis, mama already went in and out of different hospitals (for check-ups) because she has been experiencing difficulties in walking. Back then, the diagnosis was due to low potassium level in her body. However, even after her first confinement and her potassium level corrected, she still has troubles walking. She also started having seizure attacks, so the doctor advised us to conduct a CT scan.

Mama, however, decided to rest for awhile in the province to regain her strength before doing the CT scan. A week after being in the province, our Tita called us and said that they rushed mama to the hospital because she started having seizure attacks again. When mama finally did the CT scan, the doctor found out that there was a mass in her brain. The doctor then advised us to transfer her to Manila for her brain surgery.

Mama had her brain checked again through MRI, and it was confirmed that there were3 masses in her brain; 1 on the right, and 2 on the left side.

On August 21, 2017, Mama underwent a brain tumor surgery to remove the mass on the right side of her brain since it was already big, which caused mama to have difficulties in walking.

2 weeks after her surgery, Mama had a follow-up checkup with her neurosurgeon. Her neuro informed us about the result of the mass' biopsy, telling us that the mass was a malignant "metastatic adenocarcinoma".

Since mama was still on the process of recovering from her surgery, her neuro advised her to rest for awhile in the province, and then referred us to an Oncologist to trace where the mass is coming from. Meanwhile, we also tried natural remedies by changing her diet and lifestyle while also looking for an oncologist in the province.

When we finally found an oncologist, she advised mama to have 3 CT scans (cranial, chest, and upper abdomen) to know the status of the two masses left on her brain, and to trace the primary source of the masses.

On the third week of January 2018, mama started having difficulties in walking again. She also started vomiting, and having combulsion, so we rushed her to the hospital. The ER doctor did some tests, and mama's onco advised her to be admitted so they can monitor her. The ER doctor further told us that they found something odd on mama's x-ray, so they have to do a chest ultrasound to check the white thing on her x-ray. There, they found out that there's fluid on mama's lungs and it has to be drained using catheter.

On January 18, 2018, mama had a minor operation, where the doctors put a catheter on her lungs to drain the fluid. Said fluid will also be tested (biopsy) to confirm if mama's lungs were the primary source of the cancer.

As for the two masses left on mama's brain, her onco advised her to have a radiation therapy to shrink the tumors.

Truly, this season had strengthen our faith in God. This journey is not yet over, but we know that God is carrying us through. We are also doing our best to give mama the love and support that she needs in this season.

We are blessed enough to have families and friends helping us both emotionally and financially. However, the hospital bills have really skyrocketed depleting our family's savings, and mama still needs continuous treatment. I already resigned from her work to take care of mama and my little one, while my sister's salary is barely enough to keep up with our monthly bills.

Hence, we are humbly asking for your help and prayers in this time of dire need. Please help us continue the treatments that mama still needs to undergo.
