Help for my uncle’s hyperthyroidism treatment

Hello everyone. My name is Jaina. I am raising money for my uncle's hyperthyroidism treatment. My uncle is a humble man and a very good father to his two children. I'm so close to him because he had helped my mom raising me before when I was still a child.

Hyperthyroidism runs in our family. In the photo are my mom and my uncle. Last year, my mom was hospitalized because of hyperthyroidism. She was only 41. According to the doctor, when we sent her for checkups, the chance that side effects will be experienced due to her medicine is only 1%. Unfortunately, my mom had to experience that 1%. She had undergone medication for only one month because the maintenance she was taking had side effects on her. She stopped taking the medicine which triggered the thyroid storm which eventually caused her death. A thyroid storm is associated with untreated or undertreated hyperthyroidism and has a high mortality rate.

Before we could completely heal from the pain of my mother's death, my uncle, who is my mom's brother, was also diagnosed with the same disease a few weeks ago. My uncle is 44 and he has 2 children (17yo and 12yo). These days, he has been suffering from the side effects of the medicine he is taking as well: fever and rashes.

I am afraid that the same thing that happened to my mom will happen to him as well. His doctor advised him to undergo the Radioactive Iodine Treatment to treat the overactive thyroid.

With this, I am knocking in your good hearts to help me raise funds to cover for the expenses (medicines, therapy, hospitalization fee) related to my uncle's hyperthyroidism treatment. Right now, his family is not financially stable enough because he has already stopped working for 4 months due to the pandemic.

This cause really means the absolute world to us because we want to save my uncle this time since we have already lost a close member due to this disease. Our family can’t handle losing another family member again.
