Campaign Story
Murphy has been part of the Helm family for 6 months now and has brought nothing but joy and laughter to us with his comical personality and cuddly demeanor. There's nothing that Murphy loves more than to be snuggled up against someone's leg while chewing on his bone. He is a curious and active pug who enjoys playing with German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, and Labrador Retrievers!
Unfortunately, Murphy curiosity may have gotten the best of him. On May 12th, 2018 Murphy came home from daycare more lethargic than usual and did not eat his dinner that night. The next day, he did not touch his breakfast or dinner and was sleeping for most of the day. We decided to monitor him in hopes that he would get better with some rest. He did not. On May 13th, 2018 Murphy got worse. He refused to eat any food or water and could barely keep his head propped up. Murphy began to vomit, which got worse as the night progressively went on. Murphy heart rate began to increase while his body temperature began to decrease. He started to shiver and could hardly get up from his bed. We decided to then take him to an emergency animal hospital to seek help. The veterinarian ran tests on Murphy and determined that he had an object obstructing his small intestine. Murphy was then taken into surgery right away to remove the foreign object. He is currently undergoing surgery and will be discharged on morning.
Unfortunately, surgery in any form whether it be human or animal can be extremely expensive. We, the Helm family, are asking for the help of others to help us during this time with Murphy medical bills. We appreciate any donations or kind words with the deepest of gratitude knowing that you helped us in Murphy time of need. Thank you.
