Campaign Story
I'm humbly knocking at the hearts of all animal lovers out there. Our rescue cat, Lyka is currently confined at the Vets in Practice Animal Clinic in Alabang and is being treated for severe urinary tract infection.
Lyka was a stray cat being fed by the one who rescued her. One day, they found her panting under the heat of the sun, unable to move. Unfortunately, she couldn't take the cat in and care for her because she is busy with her wedding preparations. I also learned from her that she lives in a "no-pets allowed" condo unit, so I volunteered to take Lyka in.
I took Lyka to the vet for check up. Her x-ray showed no broken bones so we suspect that she was hit hard on her lower back that caused her spinal injury and paralysis. With love and nearly round-the-clock care, Lyka regained her strength and she started to move around. Her upper limbs were quite strong and she moves really fast!
Last week, I noticed that she's a bit lethargic and has no appetite. When she peed blood, I took her to the vet's. Because of her spinal injury, she holds her pee until her bladder is really full. She's been confined since the fourth of July. Her running bill as of today, July 10 is now at Php 14,000. I've already paid for the Php 2000 deposit and I'm still trying to get a discount since she's a rescue.

Lyka is home!
Update posted by Janice Seril at 06:56 pmI brough Lyka home on Thursday and she's doing great! She's back to her sweet, clingy self.I heaved a sigh of relief when her vet said that they're going to give us a discount. So from PhP 14702, our final bill was down to PhP 7492! Still, that amount left. . . . .
