I am relisting my fundraiser as I did not meet the original goal amount. I am going to start with the first description I had for it and then add the updates so you can all see the full picture from where we started to where we are now. Thank you!

I'm doing this fundraiser to help cover vet costs and medications for my 11 year old cat Lestat. I have had Lestat since he was 3 years old, when I rescued him from a local shelter. Just recently he has begun to lose weight. He just has not been acting like himself. I was able to take him into a local vet today and the think that he either has diabetes, thyroid issues, and/or kidney issues. To find out what is going on with him for sure they need to run a comprehensive blood panel and do a urinalysis. The blood panel alone is $150, then any other testing and medications that are needed. I am currently unable to work at the moment due to some health issues of my own. I do some photography and jewelry making, but just starting out with that, and not being able to do this full time and promote a business due to my health, I just have nothing right now. Lestat means the world to me and I am really at the end of my rope on things that I can do. Please if you are able to help out any lit bit, it would be greatly appreciated. He is such a loving boy and I don't want to see him suffer. Thank you for taking the time to look at my fundraising page. Any and all money raised will go to covering his expenses and taking care of his well being.

Update July 30th 2013: Lestat went back into the vet today for a shot of antibiotics. The vet said that since he was running a temp the antibiotics would be a good place to start. We saw the other vet that is at the clinic today since the gal we saw yesterday was off already this afternoon, so he also checked his mouth and teeth again and said that it looked like he has a little infection in the mouth as well. We opted to do the injection rather than the pills so I don't have to worry about him throwing up the pills. The antibiotic will last for 14 days and it will help take care of the mouth, and also anything that could be going on in the GI tract, any infection in the kidneys and so forth. This is really only a short fix, I still need to get the bloodwork done to determine what exactly is  going on. If I can get that done soon enough, he can be started on medication to try to get levels evened out (obviously depending on what it is) and then hopefully he can start getting better. The vet said that medications for diabetes, kidney, or thyroid aren't overly expensive....but the fact that I can't work and am still in the process of my SSDI decision, anything and everything is expensive. I absolutely hate the fact that I can't do anything for him right now, and I hate having to ask for help. With that said, if you are able....anything at all helps....Thank you.

Update 2 July 31st: I just wanted to take a second and thank everyone that has donated so far! Also a big thank you to everyone who has taken the time to view this page and shared with other people on social media sites, the more that this gets out there the better. Lestat has been up to his normal antics this evening. Trying to steal my food as I'm eating and trying to sneak out the back door to go lay in the grass. He spent a lot of the day sleeping, and now I'm just hoping that the antibiotic will help out some for the time being. Again thank you everyone!

Update 3 July 31st: Not to much new to share with you all today...other than a huge thank you to everyone that has donated! As of this point I will be able to take Lestat in (hopefully on Friday) and get his bloodwork started! Once that testing all comes back we will know what the next step will be. He had a pretty good night last night and he cuddled with me all morning. I had an event today for a charitable organization that I am a part of so I was gone for most of the afternoon and evening, but I got lots of loves from him when I got home. Just wanted to take a minute again to thank everyone, now I am off to bed...as I think Lestat has already headed in to curl up and wait for me :) I will continue to update on his progress.

Update 4 Aug. 3: Lestat has an appointment set for Mon. morning at 8:30 to get his blood drawn for labs. I picked him up some wet food tonight like the vet suggested and he ate his portion and has so far kept it down....going to keep supplementing his dry food with some wet food for awhile while we find out what's all going on with him. Again thank you to everyone who has donated!

Update 5 Aug 5: Lestat is at the vet...brought him in for his appt at 830 and they kept him there to do the bloodwork....said should have that all back in about an hour and that she had a couple surgeries scheduled this morning so would get back to me as soon as she can with the results.....my stomach is in knots....i slept for about an hour last night (well technically this morning) I'm exhausted and over emotional...I really want to go to sleep but afraid I won't hear my phone ring

Update 6 Aug. 5: Ok quick update on lestat....blood work came back glucose levels were 131 normal is 130 so that's fine they don't worry till it gets in the 200s....kidney tests showed fine but she is going to do a urinalysis to see what the low numbers are....thyroid test came back really really low which is super uncommon but it does tend to do that with infection....so bad news his blood levels that show infection are FOUR TIMES what they should be! This has after an antibiotic shot last tues also....so kitty has a massive infection going on...he is being started on another antibiotic and she is hoping the urinalysis may show where the infection is coming from....I'll know later this evening if he has to stay overnight or not  I'll update when I know more

Update 7 Aug. 5: K new update on Lestat....he hasn't peed for the vet yet so he has to stay overnight...He took his first dose of the new antibiotic really well (it's a chicken flavored liquid) and didn't spit it out at all, vet is going to call me in the morning and let me know results of urinalysis (as long as he decides to pee tonight) and then we will go from there....going to be really really weird not having him home tonight..won't have anyone trying to steal my food off my fork.....and def. gonna miss my cuddle bug!

Update 8 He's Home! Aug. 6:Lestat is home! the urinalysis showed a bunch of junk in his urine...but no crystals! So he is now on two antibiotics, one pill and one liquid for two weeks. I have to take him back in in about two weeks and then we are going to recheck his blood work and see how he is looking. She said that the weight loss could be from the infection since we don't know for sure how long he has had it. He gets to start eating more wet food every day which should help him start putting some weight back on. I'm def. happy with this news....although I do know that there is still the possibility that he could be losing protein in the urine (basically it leaks out and that affects muscle/weight loss) so that's another test that could still be checked if there isn't much change in the next couple of weeks, and a possibility of a type of cancer since it doesn't show up on tests but the vet said he doesn't have any abnormal lumps or bumps and his guts all felt normal so fingers crossed that maybe we found what was going on and this will get better for him! I missed my baby, it's crazy how much animals become like our very own children. Again thank you all so much for all of the help...it's very very hard for me to ask for help and I appreciate each and every one of you who shared the link to Lestats donation campaign and each of you who donated! I am leaving the donation page up for a little while to still see if I can reach that $300 goal (which that will help cover the rest of the costs of the recheck of bloodwork and any other antibiotics and food that he will need, and it also covers the fees from paypal and the site that they charge) Now it's time to go curl up with Lestat! I will keep you all updated with his progress!

Update Bloodwork Aug. 6: I posted the pictures of the bloodwork readings. I know a lot of people like to see proof of where the donation money goes to so here it is for you all! I'll also add the picture of the bill...the vet decided not to charge for the urinalysis so that was a big help as well! Still trying to figure out if I can add more photos....once I do I'll add the picture of the bill

Update 8 Aug. 11: Hey everyone, Lestat seems to be doing fairly well on his meds, he is loving eating the wet cat food and seems to be a little more active. Hopefully things will keep going well. He will be going back to the vet the week of the 25th for more blood work to check the infection levels again. Thank you all again, and please keep sharing this!

Update 9 Aug. 13: Hey everyone, Lestat seems to be doing pretty well on his antibiotics....his daddy has been taking care of him for me while I am out of town helping a friend move back home. I called today and got a quote for his next vets appointment which will be on the 27th. Depending on the blood work the vet decides to do it's going to be around $45 and then probably the office visit fee on top of that. So with that said, I am going to keep sharing this and hoping for more donors. Again thank you everyone who has donated and shared this campaign for me. Lestat means the world to me and I want to make sure he gets the care that he needs.

Update 10 Aug. 25: Lestat has been done with his antibiotics for a few days now, he seems to be building some muscle back up in his back legs and seems more active again. I take him to the vet on Tues. to recheck bloodwork and see what needs to be done next if anything. Thank you again to all of you have donated and/or shared this campaign for me! Please keep sharing this and getting the word out there I am almost at my goal and any amount will help out greatly to cover this next vet bill!

Update 11 Aug. 28: Lestat had his vet appointment this afternnon (had to reschedule from yesterday). He has gained a pound! The vet seemed impressed with his energy level...his bloodwork was still slightly elevated so he is on the two antibiotics for two more weeks, and then one more checkup and possibly another CBC check, but so far so good! Again thanks to all who have donated! Please keep this going out there, I have almost reached my goal amount and after percentages have been taken out for paypal and for this site I will have enough to cover his last vet visit, labwork and the extra food is needing right now to keep putting on the weight!

Update 12 Sep. 03: Quick update on Lestat...he seems to be doing really well! He has put on weight, it's so nice to pick him up and not feel like he is going to break, and to pet him and not feel just bones! Still have a week or so left on the second round of antibiotics. He isn't liking the liquid one this time....he seems like he kind of gags on it but we are getting most of it down. Still having some tummy issues and going potty on the floor next to his litter box but most of that is because he is associating the litter box with pain so he avoids it and goes next to it. He is slowly starting to use the litter box again though so hopefully he will go back to using that full time....puppy pads get expensive! Again thank you to everyone that has helped out! Still have a little ways to go yet though hoping I can reach my goal which will take care of the last vet appointment and lab work and antibiotics again (fingers crossed he won't need another round! If he doesn't the leftover funds will go towards a couple of new toys for him!)

So if you stuck with reading through all of that Thank You! Again still need to raise funds for the next vet visit and bloodwork...hoping this last round of antibiotics will do the trick!

Update posted by Jessica B at 03:40 pm

Hey everyone just wanted to give an update on Lestat after his vet visit today. During the manual exam the vet found a pretty good size mass in his stomach/intestinal area. They are almost 100% sure that it's lymphoma. It explains the diarrhea and weight loss and why the white. . . . .
