Grandma dedicated her life to raising her kids, even going so far as to home-school them out of a desire to provide them with the best education she was capable of giving. As a result, she has very little work experience and has not been able to find gainful employment since the kids have grown. She lost her husband at a very young age, leaving her with no retirement or other security to fall back on.
She is now dealing with debilitating medical symptoms with no way to pay for a doctor's care, and does not qualify for any assistance programs (she is a young grandmother!). The symptoms she is presenting with all point toward Multiple Sclerosis, and there is a history of MS in the family.
She has lost much of the feeling in her limbs, and deals with numbness and tingling on a daily basis here lately, that has gotten so bad it is affecting her sleep, which of course worsens things further. It's a vicious cycle. Depression has set in as well, leaving her feeling alone and abandoned by God, although she still remains true to her faith. Getting up and doing the normal things she usually loves to do is not possible when these symptoms are at their worst, making the depression deeper. She is feeling afraid, confused by the physical symptoms she is experiencing, and hopeless because of her lack of finances. It is believed that she may also suffer from undiagnosed PTSD as she witnessed her husband's death, but never sought counseling afterward - psychiatric treatment was seen as shameful to her family, and a sign of weak faith.
Any funds donated will go toward Grandma's care so that she can overcome this obstacle in her life. She does not deserve to die in this way, not after working so diligently and selflessly to raise and educate responsible kids and grandkids. Please help if you are able!
