Hi, we're a family of 5 (the parents, me, and my younger siblings which are 9 & 13) in Palmdale, Los Angeles, CA. We have 3 dogs we love, so in reality we're a family of 8 :) My parents escaped their war ravaged central american country in the late 80s to come to the U.S. and make a better life for their kids. They bought a house in 2009, lost their jobs in 2011 (they since have found work at minimum wage), and ultimately the house in 2015. It was sold in the middle of a "loan modification". Everything has happened too fast, the house was sold from under us without time to plan to leave. Eviction proccess took place and we just received a 5-day "Notice to Vacate" from the sherrif. We are to vacate before 4/15/2015 or be forefully removed.
My siblings will have to be pulled from school, we have no other family nearby, and only have enough money to cover a deposit + 1st months rent to a new place. It hurts being this vulnerable and it downright scares me that we will be homeless in 5 days. Motels (we need 2 rooms to accomadate 5 people) are so expensive, and we need any help that anyone can throw our way.
I'm in the proccess of trying to sell anything I have of any vaue on craigslist, but have to focus on trying to secure a storage unit, temporary home for our pets (found thankfully, for this weekend), and pack the house. This is beyond stressfull as it is. We've been trying to secure a place to rent for about 3 weeks with little to no luck due to the bad credit from the forclosure on the credit reports. Please, I ask, if you can help, please do so.
