Help for Dougie! :)

Just an update guys and gals we have ordered Dougies helmet after the fantastic fundraising and donations made by you!!!! Hi Guys and Gals!

Dougie suffers from two conditions called Brachycephaly and Plagiocephaly. These effect the way in which Dougies skull grows and forms. At the moment, after a private consultation we have found that Dougie is on the higher end of the severe scale for both conditions. A moderate case of Brachycephaly has a percentage of 75%-82%, which Dougie at the moment is at 98%. A moderate case of Plagiocephaly ranges between 7-12mm difference in the angle of this condition, Dougie currently has a 20mm difference. Due to the pressure of his skull from the back flattening it has now started to push his skull forward, making a slight noticeable difference to his forehead, which will get worse if left untreated. The NHS do not fund treatment for a helmet as they believe there is no significant evidence that it works. However, if you research yourself as i have done, there are thousands of children with the same conditions who have completed this specific treatment and has worked successfully. The aim of the helmet is to reduce the pressure on the left side of Dougies skull allowing it to grow and develop to become more symetrical with the right side of his skull. We need to raise £2000 for treatment but a little donation will go a long way!!!!!
