I am a survivor of Covid-19 with almost all of the symptoms excluding the struggle with breathing. I’ve gone through all necessary precautions to make sure I won’t infect anyone including taking a break from work. While on quarantine I wasn't being paid as I do not have leave credits coz I’m still new with the company. I took a break last year and was forced to leave my job back then due to hospitalization because of Ulcerative Colitis and when I’m finally over it the lockdown happened which lasted months before people has been allowed to go out to go to work or find a new job. I was doing well on training until I got Covid and was put on floating status and it’s “No work, No Pay.” I got cleared September 29th of this year (2020) and I submitted my documents same day wishing I will be granted to go to work asap so I can get back on track but it wasn’t the case. My company gave me schedule October 19th of the same year and when I arrived at work finally I was told my status is still on “Pending Fit-to-work” which means no one took care of my clearance on the day I sent my documents even though I got a reply from my supervisor at that time confirming the acceptance of my submission. I was asked to wait for 24 to 48 hours as they sent a request to get it cleared out. I finally got a reply after the 48 hours only to be asked to get a new and updated medical certificate because my documents are outdated already which wasn’t my fault coz I sent the documents same day I got it and they just didn’t take care of it in a timely manner. One considered my situation being out of work for 2 months and still wanting me to get tested again and go through the quarantine again with lame excuses and saying they’ll move my schedule further again with no assurance when they can give me. This whole discrimination with people who had Covid is all over the place and it’s making it hard for people like me to go back to work and go out to face people. I have spent my last savings to finish the renovation of my mom’s house to transform it to a small store to start up a business before I went through quarantine and sent some of my savings to my sister who’s a victim of the recent super typhoon that hit the Philippines prior to it’s landfall to help them out to evacuate as they live in the mountains of Bicol region. Today I have decided to reach out to people about my situation as no one from the company is replying back to me anymore and I am left with nothing at all. Since I’m being discriminated because of what happened to me I would like to just open up a small food and clothing business with my mom and ask for help since money loan companies declined me due to my current employment status. I never really wanna go through all of these but I’m left with nothing. However, I would like to thank anyone who would consider giving a hand. I’ll be filling a claim against my company and the company that rejected me just because I had Covid. I apologize as well in advance.
