Help for Brody!

Brody Bulldog is a 7 year old English Bulldog that I rescued 2 years ago. He was passed around from family to family until he came home to be with my family. Since taking him in we have battled chronic ear infections. I know now that this is one of the main reasons he has been bumped from home to home. Well his last series of ear treatments have been to the tune of $2k in the last year. I have gone to 3 different vets in hopes of finding some relief. In December I had to close my 9 year old clothing boutique due to the lagging economy and in that same time Brody's ears have been the worst ever. He now has developed inflammation and calcification of his ear canals and must have surgery ASAP. Now I am unemployed, and heartbroken because the cost of the surgery he needs is far more then my husband and I can afford. I don't want to let Brody down. He's been the best companion to me and my 2 young kids. He's an amazing dog with a wonderful personality. I feel like he's been let down by humans most of his life and it breaks my heart. The vet said if I can't do the proper surgery it would be in Brody's best interest to euthanize him. I can't bear the thought of that. Any help would be appreciated. The cost of the surgery is $5k but I can finance $1500 So I'm asking for help with the balance. Thank you for reading my story and thinking of Brody!
