Baby Alejandro Tomas Nava was born last June 29, 2019, Saturday at past 11:00PM.
Sadly, Baby Alejandro had several complications and infections brought about by his premature birth at 34 weeks and his Mommy's history with diabetes.
He is presently on assisted ventilation via intubation due to prematurity. He has an enlarged heart as well as PDA (Patent Ductus Arterious) which is a congenital heart defect common in premature babies in which the ductus arteriosus (a vessel connecting the pulmonary artery to the descending aorta) fails to close.
He also has a mild case of Hyaline membrane disease: a respiratory disease of the newborn, especially the premature infant, in which a membrane composed of proteins and dead cells lines the alveoli (the tiny air sacs in the lung), making gas exchange difficult. He also has pneumonia possibly due to premature rupture of Mommy Amanda's bag of water.
As of today, 2 July 2019, he has had three blood transfusions already. Our baby boy is fighting hard so we, in turn, are keeping strong.
Baby Alejandro Tomas is presently in the NICU of Qualimed Hospital in Iloilo City, where he is being treated to aid in his total recovery.
We - Amanda's friends and family, ask for your generosity as the medications and hospital bills continue to pile up each day that Baby Alejandro Tomas is in the hospital.
Other than any monetary donation, your prayers for Baby Alejandro Tomas' full recovery will also be greatly appreciated.
With love and gratitude.
