Help for Anchu’s Heart Surgery

This is an urgent appeal for your help on behalf of our friend, Kishore Poudel. Kishore needs money urgently to be able to pay for his daughter’s next surgery.

Kishore’s daughter, Anchu, was born with a hole in her heart, which for many infants heals by the time they are 2 years old. Unfortunately, this did not happen and now Anchu is experiencing congenital heart problems to the point where surgery is urgently needed.

On May 13^th, surgeons at Siriraj Hospital attempted to fix Anchu’s heart through a catheterization procedure but they were unsuccessful. Now Anchu will require open heart surgery.

Our friend, Kishore, is an established laborer from Myanmar who has been living and working in Bangkok, Thailand since 2007. He runs a small tailor shop near Kho San Road (the famous backpackers area) and that is where we first met him. He has been our tailor and friend for over 7 years.

As a foreign laborer, Kishore’s wages are minimal and he has no way of covering the cost of the treatment his daughter urgently requires. In fact, he is now working to pay back the loan he received for Anchu’s first surgery and now must come up with funds for her second, and even more expensive, surgery.

The first surgery amounted to 200,000 baht ($6,300 US) and the second surgery will cost 350,000 baht ($11,000 US).

Anchu, is a wonderful child who means the world to Kishore and his wife Maanju. They want to do everything they can to make sure that she has every opportunity to enjoy a happy and healthy childhood. However, they will only be able to do this with your help.

This is their time of greatest need and even the smallest amount you can spare would be appreciated many times over.
