My husband was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Mantle Cell Lymphoma in March of 2011. On the day that he was diagnosed, he became minutes away from death. God had other plans for him and he made it through the emergency surgery he received on life support. Over the course of the first year of THE WORST chemo known to man, he went through Hell and back. His life was almost taken from us 5 more times that year alone. After what seemed like a lifetime of a year he was put in remission only for it to come back less than a year later. God put us in just the right places all along the way and we knew that MDAnderson was the only place that could help him. We spent the next six years in and out of there with countless hospital stays, surgeries, trial drug chemo treatments, chemo to wipe out his immune system for stem cell transplant because every chemo treatment we tried had stopped working{which almost took his life again}, stem cell transplant , countless treatments for aftercare of transplant, more and more invasive treatments after complications with stem cell transplant, until July of 2017 when he went back on life support for lung failure. This turned out to be THE MOST Horrific stage of his cancer by far!! I had only heard of the things we experienced from July 2017-April 2018 and never imagined that we would have gone through the horror that we did. I know suffer from depression and anxiety from the intense trauma that my husband and I experienced. Seeing what he went through and the countless drugs that were pumped into his body is indescribable! I had no idea that a person could go through what he did for so long and fight so hard to stay here for his family. The strength that he had to be able to pull through 4 more close calls of death and the unimaginable horrific pain that he suffered on a daily basis, can only be given by God and God alone. Sadly the pain and anguish that he was enduring became to much for him to handle. That combined with an incurable bacteria he contracted, took his life on April 10, 2018. I have always been a stay at home mom with my husband being the sole bread winner. As you can imagine the income that we now have makes it very difficult to keep up with things, especially with the damage to our home from hurricane Harvey. I am still in need of home repairs from the hurricane and financial help with the everyday things and would greatly appreciate any help you can give for my three children and I.
