I live and work with Alaskan Huskies, training them to be sleddogs for long distance adventures. A few days ago, one of our 2 month old puppies, Flink, got her leg stuck between the door of her pen. She has hurt her leg very badly and is now still limping. We brought her to the veterinarian who told us her leg is broken-a double fracture. She will need a very expensive surgery to recover and unfortunately we can't afford that.
We live with our dogs 24/7 and give all our love and energy to them. Most important for us is that the dogs have a happy and healthy life. Flink has an outstanding character and is one of our favorites! She is a happy and playful dog who let everybodies heart melt. A tough young girl with a wonderful spirit. With this kind of injury she might not become the best sleddog, but all we want for her is to have a happy life, being able to do what huskies love most: running around! She deserves this so much and we would be heartbroken if she has to be in pain much longer.
The money that is donated will all be used for Flinks surgery. We will let her have surgery as soon as possible. A big thank you for everyone who is willing to help her!
