Help fix an Art Student’s laptop

(This is an art I made, these are the problems that some unfortunate students are facing during the pandemic.)

Good day! My name is Jane and I am an Art Student from the Philippines. I'd like to ask for a little help to fix my laptop or build a PC instead. Asking for financial help isn't really my thing because I know a lot of people are in need, and they deserve more help than I do but unfortunately, my laptop's screen broke during this pandemic. At first, the damage wasn't really big, I can still use the half of the screen but the damage increases everyday, now the damage covers the entire screen. I tried to fix my problem temporarily by buying an HDMI cable and plugging it into our TV, but using it for too long hurts my eye and my back. Most of my school projects can take hours to finish them.

My classes already started this month but I'm only asking for help now because I really tried to raise my own money by making art commissions first. I also tried to look for an online job on different platforms but I can't get hired.

I'm thinking of getting my laptop fixed because this is very important for me, it is the first laptop I bought using my own money back when I still had a job. But if i cannot save this laptop anymore, building a PC would be an option because i think its cheaper to build a PC than to buy a laptop. I'm not thinking of high-end PCs, im just thinking of something that's just enough to run the software i need for art school.
