Campaign Story
St Luke’s Kasitet Primary School is located in Tangulbei, a division of the East Pokot area of Eastern Kenya. The School was started by the Spiritan Missionary Fathers in 2006 to provide much needed schooling in a place where formal education is considered an unnecessary burden on families who have little income to spare on school fees. For the 250 children who receive tuition, meals and in some cases lodgings, at the school, St Luke’s has become a haven of hope for a better future for the community.
The region is currently experiencing a serious drought, with many people facing the threat of starvation. The most urgent need at present is a replacement roof for the kitchen structure, that was recently blown away by the characteristic strong winds of East Pokot. It has now become a serious challenge to prepare adequate meals for the children. Your generous donation will help to ensure the children at the school can continue to receive the nutrition they desperately need to continue their learning.
