Help Fishmaw beat Feline Infectious Peritonitis, a fatal disease

Fishmaw is a sweet 11 month old abandoned kitten that is now living in a shelter. He has made many other feline friends and is a very affectionate boy. Unfortunately, he has developed Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), a deadly viral mutation that means certain death. It is ultimately an incurable disease. In the short span of time upon diagnosis, we have seen him lose his spark and vigour. He is eating less and has lost a lot of weight. The feeling of helplessness is unbearable. In spite of his suffering, he cuddles up to his buddies and watches over his kitten friend. He has a heart of gold, and it pains us to see him this way.

There is now hope in a new drug, known as GS-441524, that holds the possibility of a cure. However this novel drug is hard to come by and is thus very expensive. Also, the treatment requires daily injections for 3 months. This means he needs many vials of the drug to hopefully bring about a cure. The money raised is for the drug cost alone, as all veterinary fees will be responsibly borne by the shelter. The drug is obtained from overseas and the vet clinic does not take any proceeds from the drug. Daily transportation fees to and from the vet for Fishmaw to get his daily injections will also be paid for by the shelter.

We are aware that there are so many other deserving causes out there that need donations as well. On our side, we feel heartbroken by the fact that a sweetheart like Fishmaw will wither and die, only because the cost of the drug prevents him from having a chance at life. As such, any amount is received with deep, immense gratitude. There are many sad stories in animal rescue and community cat work, but we hope that this can become a happy one! Thank you for your time!
