Help First Time Grandpa see his Grandson

My first grandchild was just born. He has a condition called Gastroshesis where there is a hole in his stomach. This has allowed his intestines to grow outside his stomach. The survival rate is very high these days. He will be in the NNIC unit for up to two months. I will not be able to be there for his birth due to car repairs costing up to $750 that a person on Disability can notafford. They will be over 3 hours away from me.

My car is a 2007 Pontiac G6. The power steering is gone. Tried replacing the pump but it is beyond that. Will need all new lines since any fluid added just ends up a puddle underneath. The alternator will not keep the battery charged as well. Will more than likely need a new battery as well.

I can't afford a new car or even the repairs. My estimate is probably low end.

So, it is of a personal reason with family.

Again, it saddens me to know I can't be there, unless I win the lottery lol, but to somehow be part of his life is worth it.

On a side note, I did try a fundraiser on FB for emergency maintenance on my car but had to shut it down when a friend accused me of scamming people. It hurt beyond reason. He said he would tell everyone. Thought about trying GoFundMe but that will not work since I fear he would do the same there. I have no way to network outside my FB friends list.

Sorry for babbling. This is very dear to my heart and hurts I can't be in my first grandchilds life.
