Elnor Primary is a no-fee public school situated in Elsie's River, Cape Town, and is facing exceptionally harsh conditions.
Being a food-incentive school, many of the learners attend classes to receive two meals per day, which is mainly soya, rice and beans. However, the portions are small, innutritious and flavourless. On weekends and during the school holidays, the feeding scheme does not operate, leaving these children starving until the school reopens.
Some children have to rummage through waste to find food, and others beg. You cannot teach a starving child. Please help me to afford these learners the opportunity to learn without stressing about where their next meal will come from. This campaign will start a holiday food programme for the learners as well as improve the existing feeding scheme at the school.
It is with plea that I ask for your contribution. There is no amount of money too small to make a difference.
