This is my father, Fernando (aka Nanding). He is a great father, husband and a brother to everyone. He was a seaman by profession, he braved all the years being away from us just to give us a better life. Several years ago, he was diagnosed with diabetes and that's where it all started, his battle to fight for the good life he truly deserve.

Being bedridden for four years, I know it is hard. But my father is so brave, he's so determined that he will regain all the strength he used to have. But five months ago, he had a foot ulcer and it's not getting any better until now. It affected his whole being. Gone are the days that he's jolly. Gone are the days that he eats like a viking (HEALTHY FOODS THOUGH).

For the first few years, we were able to support his medical needs but as time goes by due to some financial issues, we sometimes lack the fund to support him (BEING SICK IS NO JOKE) that it came to a point where we just rely on food supplements and from the help of his friends and relatives. And to be honest, he've never bee to the hospital for four years now (YES, no consultations, no meds!). He survived it. His faith is incomparable. He's always telling me that he only holds on to God and only He knows when will he stay in this world.

We, his family, feel bad about what's going on. We always ask if he wants to go to the hospital but he always say no. And one night, I believe that was Father's day, as I was giving him a massage, I told him, "Pa, ang pogi mo ah! Laki nga lang ilong mo, namana ko tuloy!". And he just nod. I felt bad, badly-crazy-mad bad. I was expecting a smile, or a laugh but all I saw was a tired face. My father is tired. But I won't let anything bad happen to him. So I asked him, "Pa, masakit paa mo? Dalin na natin sa ospital?Paputol na ba?". He was having a hard time talking but he said clearly. "Oo, pagod at hirap na ko.." And few minutes later, he then told me, "May pera ba tayo na pangpaospital? Magastos na naman yun. Kung wala, wag na, maghihintay na kang ako dito.". I jut nod. Boy, it was hard. I can't believe that all of this has to happen. But I know this fight will be worth it.

Right now, I am knocking at yourn generous hearts. This is for my papa, if you can help us bring back the glow and smile on his face.
