Hi, my name is Allie, and I'm a senior in high school. I'm interested in studying health and nutrition next year in college. Over the course of several months and a stack of books, I’ve learned just how important a healthy lifestyle is for children. I’m currently creating a program to educate kids on the importance of nutrition and exercise. The program involves working with Daisy Scouts; I will teach them about the importance of healthy foods and key nutrients. In order to ensure the girls are able to apply the skills they learn, I will create and provide healthy cookbooks for each Girl Scout. By participating, the scout will not only earn their ‘Eat Right, Stay Healthy’ badge, they will depart with knowledge that will help them live a longer, happier, healthier life. As part of the Girl Scout initiative, I will ask each girl to contribute (if possible) a healthy food item, which will be donated to a local food pantry. I will be collecting donations of food (and money to purchase food) throughout the fall, winter, and spring. With this food, I will stock the shelves of several local food pantries.

Thank you for helping to make a positive change in the world. As I’ve learned through past service projects, in order to make a change globally, one first has to act locally. 100% of donations will be used to purchase food for the less fortunate. All donations are appreciated. Thank you so much.
