Help father of twins beat cancer

Didzis is just 40, he lives in Riga, Latvia, and only few years ago he became father of twin boys Valters and Ernests.

The disease stroke hard about a year ago when during regular dermatologist checkup the doctor found suspicious formation, and shortly afterwards Didzis was diagnosed with malignant Melanoma – skin cancer that has been historically difficult to treat because of its aggressive, quick spreading nature. The treatment started immediately, and for some time everything seemed to be fine until few weeks ago in November 2018 Didzis has hospitalized with strong pains in back and leg sensitivity disorders. Then it turned out that the cancer had progressed and gotten into his spine.

The oncologist prescribed chemo / immunotherapy immediately for duration of one year. Cost per three week treatment is 5187 EUR, for one year - 93 366 EUR.

At stake here are Didzis chances for survival that depend directly on his Keytruda treatment. Today this young man cannot walk and endures strong pain every day, he also feels bad for being unable to take care of his family as he has always done, and including helping his elderly mother, and this is morally unbearable for him.

This is desperate time for the young family since twins are healthy active boys who demand attention every second, and they do not realize their father getting worse day by day. It is also a heavy burden on his wife’s shoulders, who now has to make living for whole family, take care of boys and her husband, leaving her breathless at the end of each day. This is heart breaking for his extended family to see this young man in this state.
